General Conditions for all people using Swim Mangawhai Facilities
Swim Mangawhai operates out of our private home residence and we expect that all people who enter our property treat it with respect.
No jumping, running or diving is allowed in the pool area unless instructed to by a Swim Mangawhai Instructor.
Children must be supervised by a caregiver at all times while on Swim Mangawhai property including during a scheduled class.
All children under three years old must be accompanied in the water with a caregiver sixteen years or older.
Children are not allowed to swim in the pool outside of their lesson times or without their instructor present.
We require all children to be actively supervised while on our property, this includes during swim lessons. If in the event a caregiver is caring for two or more children it is encouraged that another support supervisor of children be present.
As we are a residentially based business the happiness of our fellow street residents are high on our priority list. Due to this it is expected that customers of Swim Mangawhai will:
Drive within the 50km speed limit at all times and slow down on approach to Swim Mangawhai as children will likely be within the parking area.
Park inside the gates of 47 Jack Boyd Drive whenever possible and in a considerate manner to allow for maximum car parks
(five/six off street car parks are available).
Where overflow on to the road is necessary please park in the direction of traffic flow, off the road as much as possible and be considerate to all users of Jack Boyd Drive.
All children are to remain inside the fenced swimming pool area and not roam the property during swim lessons. Chemicals and dangerous goods are kept onsite and while every effort has been made to restrict accessibility to these things, risk is the caregivers responsibility.
We strive to be an environmentally minded and minimal waste home and therefore expect that all rubbish is taken offsite with you when you leave and our property is left how you found it. This includes all rubbish, disposable nappies and food related crumbs and rubbish around the property.
The parking, changing rooms, toilet, swimming area and lower deck are available for community use, please leave these facilities as you find them so other users can also have an enjoyable experience.
We welcome you to utilise our lawn/ outside table area and stay to feed/nurse your child/ren after a lesson.
It is encouraged that swimmers from pre-school level and older wear a swim cap whilst in the pool. Goggles are optional.
Disposable water nappies are permitted in the pool however Swim Mangawhai encourage the use of reusable nappies that are cost effective and good for the environment. This reflects our zero waste philosophy.
If for any reason Swim Mangawhai is required to close down the pool, affected customers will be offered a catch-up lesson to compensate for the inconvenience caused. Dates and times of catch-up lessons may be limited and must be booked within the same term of the pool closure. This catch-up lesson is separate from the entitled one make up lesson per term as stipulated due to sickness or injury.
Swim Mangawhai reserves the right to change the instructor at any time if necessary.
Swim Mangawhai reserves the right to cancel a class if demand doesn't warrant it's feasibility.
Please be aware that Swim Mangawhai may make changes to the timetable. We will aim to give you advanced notice in writing.
Swim Mangawhai reserves the right to change fees where necessary. If this happens, we will inform you in writing in advance.
You are responsible for any personal property (including any vehicle or any personal property inside the vehicle) that you bring onto Swim Mangawhai’s premises. Any personal property that you or the child/ren in your care bring with you is at your own risk.
When you use Swim Mangawhai Services, you agree that:
You or the participant(s) are in good physical condition
You know of no medical or other reason why you or the participant(s) cannot take part
Participating in the Swim service will not damage you or the participant(s) health, safety, comfort or physical condition
You or the participant(s) will use your best efforts to participate in a way that ensures not only your learning and safety but also the learning and safety of others. You will follow Swim Mangawhai staffs direction.
You agree that you or the child/ren in your care will not use our facilities if suffering from:
An infection of any sort
Vomiting or diarrhoea has been experience in the past 48 hours
An illness of any kind, which may be contagious and put other members at risk
A physical injury, such as an open cut or other similar wound
Where there is any other risk, however small, to other members.
We warn you that, while on our premises, you and your child/ren may be exposed to certain risks. By entering into this agreement and on every occasion you and your child/ren use our facilities and participate in Swim Mangawhai lessons you acknowledge and accept our warning of risk of injuries and that you or the child/ren in your care are subject to the risk of injury and release us from all liability.
Please ensure that young babies and toddlers are fed at least 30 minutes prior to lessons beginning. This helps them to enjoy their lesson and lessens the chances of accidents in the pool.
If you or the child/ren in your care breach any terms and conditions outlined, your lesson/s may be cancelled immediately and your place given to the next person on the waiting list.
Cancellation of your Swim Mangawhai service is required in writing with a two week notice period. Any payments made upfront will be refunded at the discretion of the Swim Mangawhai management team.
Water contamination
Incidents where bodily fluids (faeces, vomit, blood) enter the pool can have a significant impact on the remaining lessons for the day. Our instructor onsite will make a Health and Safety decision depending on the type and severity of the contamination. It may be expected that all participants remove themselves from the pool immediately and the lesson is completed at this time. Where this does occur Swim Mangawhai management will make a decision as to whether a catch-up lesson will be made available or not.
Lessons for the remainder of the day may need to be restricted to allow for water purification to occur. Health and Safety policies will be followed and communication will be made with all affected participants. Affected participants will be offered a catch-up lesson either into other scheduled lessons or a new lesson timeslot will be made available. Swim Mangawhai will make every effort to accommodate those affected however this may not always be possible.
Payments
Payments are to be made via bank transfer after time of invoice.
Fees are required to be paid in full prior to lessons commencing and by the stipulated date provided on the issued invoice.
Any payments not made by the stipulated dates will be cancelled and the available space will be offered to another member of the community.
Swim Mangawhai does not refund money for fees unused or carry the sum of any unused lessons over to any following term or holiday block.
Swim Mangawhai’s group lessons align with the Primary School term times, we are closed on public holidays and over the Christmas and New Year time. Fees are adjusted accordingly when the facility is closed.
Catch-up lessons
One catch-up lesson is available per term per swimmer for sickness or injury when Swim Mangawhai is notified at least two hours prior to the scheduled lesson taking place.
One catch-up lesson per term per swimmer, dependent on level and space availability.
If there is no space for a catch-up lesson due to high bookings, catch-up is not possible and can not be transferred into a credit, refund or future catch-up lesson.
Catch-up lessons may not be with the original instructor. Catch-up lessons cannot be transferred to another family member or onto another term.
AquaFit Terms and Conditions
This is a mixed depth class (shallow-deep)
Classes are 45 minutes.
On booking you will receive a confirmation email outlining key steps to complete prior to attending our property. Ensure all forms are filled out completely prior to entering the pool.
Bring a drink bottle, towel and any medication (inhaler etc) you may need with you.
(drink plenty of water before, during and after your class)There is a rail on entry/ exit to the pool. If you need further assistance entering or exiting the pool please approach our instructor who will happily support you.
If at any stage you feel faint/ light headed or nauseous please exit the pool immediately and notify the instructor.
This class is capped at 7 people.
Changing rooms are available however space may be limited, we recommend you arrive ready to swim.
Music is played at a moderate sound level.
Please be considerate to Jack Boyd drive residents when parking and park inside the gates when possible (5 car parks available).
Please ensure Swim Mangawhai is notified at least 8 hours prior to the start of your scheduled class, late cancellation of this service will result in fees being charged.
